Baptism River High Falls

Baptism River High Falls

One of Minnesota's superb state parks, found along the North Shore, has grown considerably by incorporating Baptism River State Park and the Tettegouche hunting camp. The 9,000 plus acre park was renamed for the Tettegouche area and includes lands along Lake Superior and inland, surrounding the Baptism River Valley.
This spectacular High Falls can be accessed from two trails. The shortest, a mile long trail, weaves through a dense hardwood and conifer forest, beside the Baptism River and over a suspension foot bridge. This is one of those parks that holds an abundance of wonderful, scenic landscapes, either at lakeside or along the river.
From Duluth to Grand Portage, the 150 mile North Shore is one of Minnesota's most popular drives. A dozen state parks and outstanding attractions create a most spectacular north country scenic drive. All this natural beauty has placed Route 61 on the map with a designation as an All-American Road.
