Alien Arch, found on the outskirts of Aztec, New Mexico, lies amidst BLM lands. Natural gas and oil production equipment share the same space with this area's scenic sandstone arches, windows, and peepholes. This Picture of the Day arch formation, an oddity from outer space, is located east of town and is one of three fascinating, weathered natural sculptures all within walking distance. The tangled network of unpaved county roads in this area challenges most adventurer's sense of direction.
