Springtime in Pennsylvania not only brings out the dogwood and rhododendron, but a Gettysburg spring festival spirit as well. March opens with a ReEnactor Living History and Appreciation weekend. Following in the months of April and May, the area hosts History Meets the Arts exhibition, the Adams County Apple Blossom Festival and the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival.
This lively brass quartet turns up the festival spirit during History Meets the Arts event, a mid-April event. The annual celebration, spanning last the decade, features nationally acclaimed artists, craftsmen, sculptures and artisans. The exhibition not only includes original artwork, but presents opportunity for artisans to interact with visitors and Gettysburg residents, teaching technique, design, and offering encouragement. Centered in the historic downtown district, the festival is also used to promote the idea of historical preservation.
