Bridelveil Creek

Bridelveil Creek

This small scenic wonder lies within the majestic Yosemite National Park, California. The Bridelveil Creek flows north toward Bridelveil Falls. The waterfall is one of Yosemite's most beautiful features. This scenic Picture of the Day creates a wonderful setting as the water rushes toward the Merced River. Bridelveil Creek is one of many small tributaries that flow into the Merced River, the park's major southern river. The main river to the north is the Tuolumne. It flows through its own Grand Canyon to Hetch Hetchy reservoir. Damming the Tuolumne at Hetch Hetchy Valley was a controversial environmental battle that lasted more than 12 years. John Muir led the fight to save Hetch Hetchy Valley, but Congress approved the project and Muir was dead the following year.
