Glade Creek
|
West Virginia's Babcock State Park is well known for its picturesque grist mill. The mill sometimes overshadows the remainder of the 4,000 plus acres of rugged mountain beauty. Along with the usual amenities, including camping, hiking, swimming, volleyball and basketball courts, the park's Boley Lake offers summer fun on the water. Seasonal canoeing, fishing and paddle boats are some of the lakeside activities. Hiking trails are woven into the park's acreage, and along the Narrow Gauge Trail is a challenging swinging bridge.
Manns Creek, Floyd Creek and Sugar Run all feed the scenic Glade Creek, pictured here. Enjoy the scenery during the summer on horseback. The park offers horses and ponies for adults and youngsters. Park naturalists are also on hand for nature tours and interpretation programs.
