Playalinda Beach

Playalinda Beach

Playalinda Beach, a southern section of the Canaveral National Seashore, is located along the Florida coast frostline. In this unique climate of temperate and subtropical, a long list of over 1,000 plant species are protected by national park regulation.
The park is accessed from each end and covers about 25 miles of natural, east coast beach. The central portion remains undeveloped, with no paved access. No automobile tracks are found along this beach, only footprints.
Playalinda Beach, with its bald eagles, thousands of migratory birds, 100 year old oaks draped with Spanish moss and the adjacent Kennedy Space Center, is better known as a nude beach. Uninhibited beach goers have enjoyed the northern section of lot 13 for years, even though park officials frown on their getting so close to nature.
