Caution!! Open Range areas add additional driving hazards in some parts of the United States. One can drive for days in Utah, travel for hundreds of miles and see numerous open range signs, and not a single bovine.
Due to sparse vegetation in arid areas, livestock require much more grazing land and the large grazing expanses are impractical to fence. In open range areas, cattle, horses and sheep move about freely. In this almost humorous photo, cattle seem to pose under the open range sign posted for driving safety.
