There is quite a detailed list of things to do in Sedona, and there's a chance it will start off with a shopping trip or a visit to Uptown's Gallery District where browsing through art galleries there will further inspire your Sedona stay. An itinerary may include resorts, spiritual readings, and spas, as Sedona continues to be recognized as a place of healing and spiritual renewal. There's water fun at Slide Rock State Park, hot-air balloon rides, and loads of in-town entertainment. While you're strolling through the city streets, you can't miss seeing indications of the area's geological wonders and the great outdoors. Special tours are ready to take you into the Sedona Back Country for more fun and adventure. And that's what makes this Arizona town really special, earning the distinction of the "most beautiful place in America." More than 4 million visitors enjoy this natural red-rock country every year, finding its glorious wind-worn rock forms, distinctive buttes and dramatic canyons something to behold.
Pictured here is Sedona's signature Bell Rock, a weathered sandstone landmark, just one of Sedona's cover-photo buttes. A Sedona favorite, Bell Rock rises up from the desert floor about 550 feet. Beginning at the Bell Rock Vista, the pathway to Bell Rock is considered easy. It's possible to take Courthouse Butte Trail about a half mile into the hike and circle around to Bell Rock, a great introduction to Sedona' scenic wonders.
