Cool Springs Baptist Church

This Blue Ridge Mountain weather shelter was home to the Cool Springs Baptist Church, North Carolina. The sporadic church services were often held under the shade trees. Circuit riders spread not only the good word, but also the latest views from around the area. In the days before mass communication, rural folks relied on word-of-mouth for news of the outside world.
