Bushkill Falls

Bushkill Falls

A privately owned park, Bushkill Falls is touted as the Niagara of Pennsylvania. The dramatic falls is powered by the meek sounding Little Bushkill Creek. Trails and stairways are built all around the falls area. Those with the time and a sturdy legs can take in eight separate waterfall features. Pond Run and Bushkill creeks join together below the main falls, flow through the Poconos Mountains and eventually meet the Delaware River.
Bushkill Falls was opened to the public in 1904, as Charles E. Peters established the first trails to the 100 foot falls. The park fees may open the eyes of some visitors, and bring on an appreciation of the state parks system in Pennsylvania. The Bushkill Park also features fishing ponds, miniature golf, and educational Native American and wildlife exhibits. Early birds will have to wait until 9:00 AM when the park opens.
