The Wilderness Vagabond
The Middle Fork of the Salmon River, a premier rafting river, cuts across one of the largest federally protected areas in the Lower 48. Idaho has over 3,000 miles of unchecked rivers and the Middle Fork is the Great American Adventure, boasting miles of class IV and V churning rapids. The Salmon, Idaho's longest river, was called the River of No Return by the famed explorers, Louis and Clark. And still today, the unspoiled Salmon River area provides some of the most spectacular scenery in all the northwest,
anchored with breathtaking rocky gorges, and topped off with wonderful sightings of bear, big horn sheep, river otters and birds of prey.
