Sand Harbor State Park - East Shore Scenic Drive, Zephyr Cove, Nevada

   Although there’s more to the Lake Tahoe area, Sand Harbor Sign - East Lakeshore Drive, Nevada the lake’s clear, sparkling waters and majestic shoreline have always been the star attraction here. Modern enticements include shopping, gambling, fine dining and golf, but the key is still the natural elements. Recreation, part of the ultimate vacation, is centered on ski slopes, mountain biking, hiking, camping and boating.
   One of 20 Nevada Scenic Byways established in 1982, Lake Tahoe Eastshore Byway combines US Route 50 and Nevada’s SR 28 for one of the most impressive drives in America. Beautiful snow-capped peaks, lush mountain evergreen Beach and Boardwalk - Sand Harbor State Park, Nevada forests and the magical appearance of Lake Tahoe make this one of the most popular stops in the West.
   This view at Sand Harbor State Park features one of the few sand beaches along the lake. Tahoe’s signature rocky coast is still evident, adding a distinct appeal to this popular day use park. The Nevada state park offers an assortment of amenities, including a boat launch, picnicking, playground and group use facilities. The East Shore Drive, placed against the gorgeous backdrop of the Sierras Nevada Mountains and a picturesque Lake Tahoe, guarantees some memorable experiences.
