The Natural State
Living up to its nickname the Natural State, Arkansas provides some of the nation's best opportunites for outdoor recreation. The state is covered from border to border with more than 50 state parks, nine national park sites, and three national forests. Its national forest and wilderness lands, covering three million acres, are packed with campsites, hiking trails, mountain streams, boating and fishing sites, abundant wildlife, underground caverns, and numerous ways to connect with the outdoor world.
