The Show Me State

Anchored by two huge border cities in the east and west and two major rivers, Missouri is noted for its pleasant mix of urban life and sweeping rural lands. The state's historic towns, along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, cannot be mentioned without a tribute to native born Samuel Clements (Mark Twain), President Harry S Truman, and Walt Disney. The darker side of Missouri history includes the escapades of Jesse James and the bloody Missouri-Kansas Border Wars.
The state's national park sites include most famous St. Louis Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and the Gateway Arch. Outdoor adventures include hunting, fishing, hiking and sightseeing, best enjoyed in the state's 30 state parks. Missouri may be best discovered over its 10 state and national scenic byways.
