On this exceptional clear day, Angel Island is the perfect perch to take in the wonderful view toward Golden Gate Strait and Marin County. In this distant southwest direction lies the famed Golden Gate Bridge, connecting the tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to the Sausalito headlands. Just above Sausalito, the scenic Coastal Highway 1 begins, winding its way northward along the Pacific Ocean.
Angel Island State Park can be reached by ferry service, or by private boat. Slips and overnight mooring buoys are available. Hiking and biking paths cover the island and lead to many historic buildings and fantastic views in all directions.
